    A sonnet in the storm

Do you miss those hazy rose coloured days
when nothing else mattered but you and me
into each others faces we would gaze
where time on my hands meant we could be free

where all I wanted was to have you there
that new love sparkle did shine in our eyes
kisses liquid warm as the port we shared
Before we lost the strength to hope or try

And now it seems certain that we would fall
so many obstacles thrown in our way
As learners at the wheel our love did stall
to numb the pain we keep feelings at bay

How I miss those hazy rose coloured days
those dreamy days before we lost our way

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
