    “The Emptiness of Love”

     The emptiness I feel right now in my heart;

    Is like a load of bricks just waiting to drop.

    The waiting, the wondering, to see if you care;

    Is much too much for one person to bear.

    I sit here by myself just wishing you were here;

    With the silence of the phone just waiting to hear.

    If this isn’t love, than I don’t know what it is;

    For the longing inside me that does exists.

    The touch of your arms and warmth of your smile;

    I’d five my whole life up, for just a little while.

    The feelings I have are like a tornado inside;

    Just wondering if I should blow them aside.

    I need you now dear to be by my side;

    So I can express my true feelings inside.

    My love, my dreams, and my life I’ll share with you;

    But I don’t know your feelings, please give me a clue.

    Is it wishful thinking on my part that you care;

    Or do you feel the same longing, wishing I were there.

    I know down deep in my heart we belong together;

    Than maybe the emptiness I feel will be gone forever.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
