    Always

Miles away and eons gone yet you remain
right where you have always belonged
In my heart, in my soul and in every
    breath I take.

You comfort me and live within my memory
Always smiling always alive always there
where every reflection and every hue
    bring a glimpse of you.

And though my eyes are no longer filled
with your beauty and it often seems
I am banished from the light, no darkness
    can blacken my dreams

Within the cold reality of a life we'll
never share lie images and memories of a
single promise I will keep forever and the
only gift I could ever give.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
