Fall of a Dream

Fall of a Dream

A mystery unfolds before me
Fingertips manicured to
Soft, elegent perfection

Her smile unlocks my heart
Her touch releases my pain
No longer a prison of memory

The walls collapse beneath
Her piercing autumn gaze
Wonderous release enfolds me

The sweet caress of trust
Cleanses the doubt, the fear
Replaced by scent of kinship

This soul so pure and clean
Reminds me to remember
That dreams don't have to die

This dream may yet live
And if I can only sleep
She will one day find me.

These are beautiful. Glad I stumbled upon them.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
