As I Once Was

Henry Van Olviline ©   ~~> Currently unpublished  2009

Nights pass by with undulated thought
Temptaions arrise, meanlingless haunts

Torrid passions and guilt remains
Lingering for something that eases the pain

A touch of passion that whips the wind
Apologies apathetic that no longer mends
I sense the storm brewing, emotions entwined
Looking out the window, hoping only to find

What dismay this life, and shall it pass?
Handed down misery of another mans wrath

I sense the calm which lay ahead....
No longer dreary for the road to which will be led
