Awakening

Awakening

I awoke and saw it's rise
Herald by song of flight
Shadows cast that show past and present
For me the latter
The horizon endless
As is my future
But a single step left for those to follow
Or ponder
Or bemuse in my folly
It matters not
As all resides behind me
As does the wind
And in its turbulence lies contradiction of thought and action
and its compromise
but where you will find me
forever upwind with a light that beckons me to follow
