So I Ride

So I Ride

Into the horizon as far as my eyes can see
It's never ending, but all right by me

Past distant behind me now
The present a blur beneath my feet
Future forever in the distance beckoning me to follow

So I ride

A siren I once heard as a child carried by a wind
That blew far from the west and warmed over the vast desert
I now traverse

To remember, to forget, to forgive, to regret, to hold onto,
to let go...No longer matters

A different place, a different time
To have gone full circle
And once again find

myself...

So I ride

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
