    Poem Commentary

This poem is about my baby sister when she was having surgery

    Baby Sister

    Colors in everyroom all around.
Reds, blues, purples, greens, oranges, and yellows.
Not a movement not a sound.

Things that are square and that are round.
You can be quit the sister and the fellow.
In a room with new things all around.

With a balloon on your crib which is round.
You are in bed with you tummy full of jello.
While you start to fall asleep without a sound.

I wish right now you are around.
My little sister my little fellow.
With your little round tummy full of jello.

I wish right now I could hear that sound.
That sound of your voice saying yellow.
    With your whole family around.

My little sister always crawling around.
With your little belly that we fill with jello.
Watching the clock go round and round.
While I'm hopeing to see you around.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
