Who Are You, Teenager?

Who Are You, Teenager?

Who are you, Teenager?
What have you done to me?
To that girl filled with laughter,
So careless and so free.

Who are you, Teenager
To make me feel this way?
Moody, sad, frustrated,
And more confused each day.

Who are you, Teenager?
New hormones always raging
I feel as insecure now
With my girlish body quickly aging.

Who are you, Teenager?
Please, I need to know.
Will you help me find my dreams?
As I learn and change and grow.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
