    Poem Commentary

This is a song about everlasting love.

    BUTTERFLIES

Do you remember the night that we danced

    That memory returns to me

Love was so fleeting, we took a chance

Promising how our love was to be

Now we only dance in our dreams

Our two hearts beating as one

Time passes slowly, or so it seems

    Our love has only begun

Dancing with you under the moonlight

Stars were twinkling way up above

Knowing that moment in our life was right

The night that we fell in love

Butterflies  come at the sound of your voice

I cherish each moment with you

So now I leave you no choice

To pledge that your love is true

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you liked the poem. I was speaking of "butterflies" - 'nerves', when you love someone so much, especially your 'mate'. The poem is a song, also.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
