    Your Hands, My Heart

    Your Hands, My Heart

When I close my eyes at night

I see your face in my dreams

You hold my heart in the palm of your hand

    So it seems

I know with you here by my side

    Our hearts meet

    My life is complete

    Your hands, my heart

    Together they will always be

    Your hands, my heart

Forever to love, forever to be

My eyes open to see you there

    So peaceful and so still

It's then I know for you I care

    I always will

I know with you here by my side

    Our eyes meet

    Our love is complete

    Your hands, my heart

    Together they will always be

    Your hands, my heart

Forever to love, forever to be

Slowly I reach out to you

    And touch your finger tips

I know you make my dreams come true

    I kiss your lips

I know with you here by my side

    Our souls meet

    Our life is complete

    Your hands, my heart

    Together they will always be

    Your hands, my heart

Forever to love, forever to be

    My hands, your heart

    Together they will always be

    My hands, your heart

Forever to love, forever to be

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
