    The Strings of My Heart

    THE STRINGS OF MY HEART

YOUR LOVE HAS STRUCK THE STRINGS OF MY HEART
HEAR WHAT THEY’RE PLAYING FOR ME
THEIR MUSIC IS SAYING WE’RE SO FAR APART
BEGGING YOU COME BACK TO ME

PLAYING SORROWFUL SONGS IN THE NIGHT
    WAITING FOR YOU TO RETURN
MELODIES MELT AWAY WITH THE LIGHT
FOR IT IS YOU THAT I YEARN

ONCE YOU HAD STRUMMED THE STRINGS OF MY HEART
GENTLY, YOUR LOVE MADE THEM SOAR
    PROMISES GIVEN NEVER TO PART
THOSE WORDS WERE SPOKEN ONCE MORE

MY HEART WAS BROKEN AND FULL OF PAIN
KNOWING YOU’RE MORE THAN A FRIEND
IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO START OVER AGAIN
YOUR LOVE WILL HELP IT TO MEND

AND NOW YOUR LOVE PLAYS THE STRINGS OF MY HEART
    LISTEN TO ITS MELODY
    NEVERMORE WILL WE BE APAERT
    LOVE MADE MUSIC IN ME
    MUSIC, MUSIC
    LOVE MADE MUSIC IN ME

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
