    Care Taker

    You never listen

but my voice should not be heard

I do not deserve your attention

nor the simple acceptance you bestow upon me

The emotions I dump on you

    should be kept to myself

You can not survive two sets of problems

My feelings are not meant to be carried by another

I should not place my weighted emotions on you

    Your emotions should be shared

They are more intense than mine

I want to be your care taker

If you let me I will listen

Everyone needs someone to lean on

I will lean on you no longer

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
