    My Cover

    My facade fools many

My smile covers my many tears

My laugh is my pain incognito

The only part of me I can not cover

    is my soul

My eyes give up my sadness

the show off my love for him

    I burn to hear him

No one can know my feelings for him

No one can know the longing I hold for him

    My facade must remain intact

my false joy must fool them

My emotions for him must remained locked away

    at least until that day

when he returns home to me

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
