The dawn of this day
Came in a very special way
There were no dark clouds in the sky
And they all wondered why

Things have not been good of late
And there was for this special thing that they wait
Is this the day they have been waiting for?
Or would they have to wait for much more?

Everyone waited with great anxiety and anticipation
Would this be the end of their tribulation?
Would someone really come to ease their pain?
So that they would be free to roam again?

The prophets have been prophesying about this day
And there were some very special things they say
That a king would come to set them free
And save them from all their miseries

They said that Jesus was to be His name
And that it would forever remain the same
But a Humble Man came along that day
And they didn’t look His way

He preached about the kingdom of God
And told them to follow Him and give away all they had
Everyone was looking for an earthly King
But who was this man, and what did He bring?

All He had was the word from His mouth
And hardly anyone listens to what He was talking about
They thought that He was blaspheming Himself
So they didn’t listen to Him, they were expecting someone else

And His followers were the ones who were hurt
When He gave His life and all it was worth
