    Poem Commentary

    I wrote this for an English assignment a couple years ago...^.^;;

    Death....My best friend

    It's thrilling,
    yet frightening
    my little friend named Death.
    It welcomes you with open arms
    while stabbing you in the back.
    First you feel its shadowy presence
    Then you hear its voice
    It calls to you,
    beckoning you
    to come and see its splendor
    You glance around
    there's no one there.
    Then Death appears before you
    to bask in your trembling fear
    and it wraps you in its arms
    and then you are no more.

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
