Devoted Love

He never really loved me, now the truth stands out. His lies don't hurt anymore, and either do his many other faults.  For a long time, I loved him with a love so pure and true, I thought he'd learn from me, to love as I do.  If I can only change him, and cleanse his soul within, I'd do it it a heartbeats time, but can't, and will not win.

Dear God, please be there for him, if unto you he someday cries, maybe tears will even fall from his eyes-

I'll never really lose him, if you stay by his side!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
