    Drifting Apart

I still think of him often, yet less everyday,
For as more time falls between us, he drifts further away,
The memories that we made, do still linger in my mind,
For I did love him dearly but now broken is our bind,
I still see him around every once and awhile,
Yet the space in between us now feels like a mile,
Occasionally our eyes, they will drift into each other,
And there they will lock, till we can't see the other,
But that's all that's left of the time that we shared,
Besides the pain that he left in my heart cause I cared.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
