    DRUGS

    A journey best declined

It takes you places you thought  you’ve always wanted to go

But like a run-away train that’s unable to stop

It takes you laces you never dreamed you could be

Suddenly those taking you for a ride are nowhere around

Innocent lark turns  terror, cold, friendless helpless and alone

A victim, someone who just wanted to belong, to be liked

To be admired, to be daring, to be successful, to be envied

You didn’t think it through did you?

You didn’t count the cost; you didn’t look before you leap

You sold yourself to slavery, now you are alone in the deep

You blame the system; you blame your so called  friends

Wait! look in the mirror, there is someone you forgot

For every action there is a reaction we have been told

The choices we make comes with their consequences too

Your decision, your life, your choice, your blame

Wake up, get up, make another choice, choose life not drugs

Be selfless not selfish, self pity is for the weak, be strong

Be bold, be admired, be successful be envied

Your decision, your life, your choice, your goal

another great poem I well done another 10 from me as you can see, stay writing . http://www.originalpoetry.com/poet/tsgirl

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
