    RELIGION

Unites, divides, confuses defuses and makes  strong

Somewhere to hide, somewhere to belong

Somewhere to be someone, a place to be noticed

It can be everything to everyone, a place to go unnoticed

A useful tool in the hands of the wise

    A deadly weapon in a fool’s possession

The most destructive force on earth

Since the dawn of time and human’s birth

Its efforts to conquers and conform

Have more often ended in reform

It seeks to satisfy its own interests

Therefore it has no true  redress

The timid and feeble minded are controlled by it

To the slick and cunning it’s a source of good profit

Religion, its good its bad its big its small

It can be a source of power to those who heeds its call

The people’s air, as old as time itself

It beckons to all come join, find your place upon my shelf

A poet you are, that was great, I like, I'm sharing also @ http://www.originalpoetry.com/poet/tsgirl

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
