FEAR

FEAR

some say you are the reason for courage
and others say you are not
some look to you for motivation
and others, you make their hearts stop
where did you come from how did you come about
i know that you are not natural to me
but still i cant put you out
i dare not to ignore you and what you have done
but never again will i succumb
to the rule of your thumb
you have blinded the eyes of many
and produced in them irrational thoughts
you corrupt the lives of those you control
and seek to destroy those you cannot
you've made the strongest of men fall to their knees
and weep at what they cannot defeat
but for me this is goodbye,
FEAR, never again will we meet.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
