Foolishness

Foolishness

Changed
in an
instant
of awareness;
the cruelty
of its creation
scorned
her youthful body
and bridal innocence
was ripped away
to reveal
the foolishness
in believing
that love
would be enough.

Sometimes, we just have to call it like it is; an odd human behavior... That we sacrifice our common sense for sake of a hopeful love, or the wantonness of lust itself is the burden of delusion virtually every human being suffers from occasionally... As reality slowly begins to set in after the new has worn off, the first person we feel like slapping for our mistake is not someone else, but us... Such fools we can sometimes be... Great, short write....

Thank you, your responses are poetic in themselves.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
