    Poem Commentary

For my Dear Friend Norma and her son Glenn.

For Glenn ( A mothers prayer)

    For Glenn- (A mothers prayer)

When you were just a little boy

I led you by the hand
    I taught you many things
For the day you'd be a man

The years have passed so quickly
You have children of your own--
    Successful in this world--
    Now that you are grown

You dropped my hand long ago
    To follow your own life
You seem to have it all
    But not eternal life

You see I didn't know the Lord
When you were just a lad
I would have taught you of Him
And now it makes me sad

That the thing that's most important
Is what you do not have
And that you have no interest in
The Christ who came to save--

Unless you come to know Him
As your Savior and your Lord
    Unless you come to trust--
And take God at His word

I shall never hold your hand again
Your fate shall be in hell
And I shall be in heaven
    And forever we shall dwell--

In the land of our decision
    Our destination sealed--
Though it is not too late
    To have your fate repealed

Harken to my words dear son
And seek the Christ who died
Who shed His blood for sin
So that we may both reside

    Forever in Gods Heaven
    That precious promised land
    Forget your own importance
And seek to take Gods hand

His hand will lead you safely
    From this world of woe
But He can not lead you there
If you do not want to go

So I pray that you would listen
To your Mother just once more--
And trust me when I tell you
The most important thing I know--

Is that there's nothing in this world--
    Not wealth or lofty goal
That shall profit you my son
If you should lose your soul

Debra, Norma is so blessed to have you as her friend!!! I hope that your poem reaches her son, Glenn, before it's too late. I pray for complete healing for Norma, by the stripes of Jesus and the salvation of Glenn, by Jesus blood. I also pray for you strength to be able to continue uplifting the spirit of your friend, while she awaits the manifestation of her healing. Thanks for sharing this great expressive piece of art and be blessed!!!

Thank you. Norma has been a blessing. She is strong in the Lord and knows that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and to depart and be with Him is far better! Thank you for your prayers for Glenn. It is my hope that he will change his mind and come to know Jesus Christ as his Savior and by Gods will he shall. For we know that we can plant and we can water but God gives the increase. Thank you for your encouragement and your prayers. God bless you!

DEBBIE I TOOK MY 3 SONS TO CHURCH FOR 15 YRS. 3 X WEEKLY WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE ONES TO TEENS. THEY ARE ALL GROWN AND ACT LIKE THEY NEVER HEARD A WORD ABOUT SALVATION. BUT THEY KNOW AND YOUR SON HAS BEEN TOLD. WE JUST HAVE TO KEEP LIVING CHRIST BEFORE THEM AND LEAVE THEM WITH THE LORD. TRUSTING HIM TO SAVE THEM BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. I WOULD LOVE TO SEND THIS TO THEM IF IT IS OK. AND U MIGHT WANT TO USE MY "HAVE YOU THOUGHT?" POEM. GOD BLESS OUR CHILDREN WITH SALVATION SOON. LOVE AND PRAYERS IN JESUS, MARILYN

Dear Marilyn, All of my Sons are in the Lord. This was written for my Dear friend Norma who has a son Glenn who is a professed athiest. She did not accept the Lord as her Savior until after her children were grown. She is dieing from cancer and her heart is broken that she may never see her son again. She was on my mind as was he so I wrote this poem. As far as your sons go, the word of God says to "train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" This does not mean that they will not depart and run in this world for a while. Sometimes we have to end up like the prodigal flat on our backs in this pig sty before we look up. Salvation is not reformation for we shall always have this sin nature until we are glorified and adopted. I will read your poem and keep you and yours in prayer. Thank you for your comments. I rarely get on here lately and I am always pleased to hear from you. God Bless you, Debra

This is poetry in motion with a mother's message embedded.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
