    Her

Eyes as blue as the morning skies.
Oh! How I hate to say good-bye!
Arms as warm as a down blanket,
I will always miss her banquets!
A voice as soft as a whisper.
    I will always miss her!

Through the mightmares and the tears,
with her there I had no fears.
    With her and God above,
    I always felt very loved.
    I will always miss her!

    Though it has been years,
    I still shed the tears.
Of a love lost and gone,
but it will not be long!
    I will alway miss her!

I know she is not far,
She is there in the stars.
    Watching with her loving eyes,
Way up in the starry skies.
    She knows I miss her

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
