    1/22-23/2023 How could I think [insert crush] could love me?

    I Am Ugly

     I did it. I did it!
    I fooled them all
    into thinking that
    I'm wonderful.
    Pure and pleasant,
    a porcelain doll,
    beaming and regal,
    a beauty tall.
    They think me bright,
    a delight and wise.
    They build me up,
    think I'm a prize.
    They see not my
    sleight of hand;
    know not the hidden,
    unsightly strands.
    The fools. They think
    it's metaphor,
    this talk of my
    exterior.
    Disappointed
    I know they'd be
    upon complete
    bare scrutiny.
    I shroud my shame
    in mystery,
    hoping no one
    will uncover me.
    I am ugly,
    really truly.
    How could I think
    someone could love me?
