I gave you my Energy

I gave you my Energy

I gave you my Energy

My kindness, My heart

I gave you my confidence

My friendship from the start

In return I received from you

Meanness and Deceit

Self-Centered and Unremorseful

Is what you ended up to be

For you think you do no wrong

Sorry is never said

Anger and Justification

Is what you give instead

You fill your head with boastfulness

What suits you is all you see

This is the perfect recipe

To become alone and empty

One day maybe your heart will grow

Making room for others to dwell

Until that day my company

Will no longer be yours to share

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
