    I Refuse (To Get Used)

    I Refuse
    (To Get Used)

    I told her,
    enough is enough.
    Our time is over,
    so is our love.
    You give me a reason,
    to sing the blues.
    I refuse,
    to get used.

    I refuse,
    to get used.
    Love is over,
    we are through.

    Our relationship,
    is all wore out.
    Nothing can bring,
    it back around.
    I realize now,
    that I already knew.
    I refuse,
    to get used.

    I refuse,
    to get used.
    Love is over,
    we are through.
    There is nothing,
    left to do.
    I refuse,
    to get used.

    When this is over,
    when this is done.
    I’ll know inside,
    life has just begun.
    I’ll keep on walking,
till there’s holes in my shoes.
    I refuse,
    to get used.

    I refuse,
    to get used.
    Love is over,
    we are through.

    I refuse,
    to get used.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
