    Insomnia

Oh, how I wish to fall asleep,
Feels like I've been up for a week,
Relentlessly taunted by the jumping sheep,
Mr. Sandman I need your help, bury me deep.

It's almost three in the morning,
Passing time by reading a book,
Seems like three in the evening,
Sleepless nights give you a different outlook.

I miss the power to craft my own world,
Free to let your imagination grow,
With little use of energy large objects could be hurled,
Settle the rapids, make it an even flow.

I want to float up into the heavens,
Find some comfort in the clouds,
    Cumulus provide the best cushions,
    Like bosoms of the well-endowed.

On the soft pillows my head shall lay,
Under the covers, in my warm bed,
But my consciousness refuses to go away,
Maybe because of truths left unsaid.
