    The Sun and the Moon

    Around you we all revolve,
Never knowing what the next day will bring,
Thanks to you we were allowed to evolve,
To your glorious light we cling.

Without you we would be submerged in darkness,
Never to gaze upon your glorious rays,
Your palace is large and boundless,
To you i give my eternal praise.

    Constantly circling around the earth,
Bring each day to an end,
    Uncertain of your mysterious birth,
    Controller of the tide's trend.

Your surface is littered with bruises,
Is that why you only come out at night,
You want to hide the sources,
Your sorrow is uncovered by the light.

Every so often the sun and moon meet,
Creating a spectacle for all to see,
Many are awed by this feat,
This adverse attraction simply amazes me.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
