    To be taken at face value.

    It Was Not To Be

    There was a time when I loved you,

    a real-life fantasy.

     

    A time of hopes and plans and dreams

    waiting to be set free.

     

    You were to be my shining star

    for everyone to see.

     

    But you had other hopes and dreams

    so it was not to be.
