Jaded
I fear the end is drawing near,
I fear that time is here.
I thank everyday that I have known you.
Yet I feel unclear
I don't know which way to steer,
This tattered heart that I hold dear
My eyes begin to tear.
When I dream of what once was there,
Now is a fleeting memory.
It tares at my wounded soul,
The walls that once were protecting
You tore down with ease.
They are slowly rebuilding.
You sparked the ember that had gone cold.
It blazed with your warmth and every caress.
Now it has dimmed once more.
I fear we were never meant to be,
I wish I could see,
The way it used to be.
The love has slowly faded,
I am once more jaded
I fear that time is here.
I thank everyday that I have known you.
Yet I feel unclear
I don't know which way to steer,
This tattered heart that I hold dear
My eyes begin to tear.
When I dream of what once was there,
Now is a fleeting memory.
It tares at my wounded soul,
The walls that once were protecting
You tore down with ease.
They are slowly rebuilding.
You sparked the ember that had gone cold.
It blazed with your warmth and every caress.
Now it has dimmed once more.
I fear we were never meant to be,
I wish I could see,
The way it used to be.
The love has slowly faded,
I am once more jaded
