Left alone, to cry

Poem Commentary

Why do you cry? Leave it in the comments.

Left alone, to cry

Where do you cry,
Boy with his head in the clouds,
Why do you cry?
"My dad says he's proud."

Where do you cry,
Young women in candle light, eyes bright as can be,
Why do you cry?
"He took out a ring and asked to marry me!"

Where do you cry,
Girl on the concrete staircase,
Why do you cry?
"He gave another girl my place."

Where do you cry,
Man standing by the oak tree,
Why do you cry?
"My son says he doesn't need me."

Where do you cry,
You standing among the crowd,
Why do you cry?
"I've seen far enough of hates cold shroud."

It doesn't matter where or why you cry,
As long as someone cares to dry your eyes.

Dry your tears and read those which say happy things... Good write and brought tears to my eyes (I'm sensitive) as you write you paint a picture and you painted a vivid one!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
