~Life Goes On~

~Life Goes On~

I've lived and I've learned;
I've loved and I've lost,
I've tossed and I've turned,
I've sure paid the cost.
The scars that I've earned,
The lines I have crossed.
The memories burned,
My heart embossed.
Some of the bad memories come in flashes,
feeling them burn as they turn to ashes.
The hurt and the pain;
these tears that I've cried,
gone down the drain
left deep down inside.
A new life in bloom;
With much laughter and love,
One could assume
Sent from our father above.

Great write. True heart-felt sentiments. All part of our journey here, you have written with a grace that flows. Thanks for sharing.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
