"The Day We Died"

"The Day We Died"

I Stood there knowing deep inside,

The Pain in my heart would not subside.

I heard the gunshot

I heard you yell,

My heart it jumped and I ran like hell...

From your mouth there was no sound

so I picked the gun up off the ground.

I pulled the trigger then I fell,

I wasn't doing very well.

They tried to do the best they could,

but I died

I knew I would.

Now I'm with the one I love,

Right here in heaven above!!

This was very sad yet I loved the flow of it and it was written very Nicely! Job well done!‎

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
