Poem Commentary

Recently, one of the nurses I know through my work lost her son who was eleven...She and her husband lost their only son...His name was John Michael Evans...My heart goes out to them...I wrote a poem which I shared with Heather and her husband Mike...We do not understand things that happen like this; but through our faith, we somehow can carry on...

The life of John Michael touched many, and he will live on with those who knew and loved him...Juanita Pittman-Brown

Listen With Your Heart

 Listen With Your Heart...

Mom and Dad

I no longer am upon the earth

But I want you to know

That I know what your love is worth  --

I know you will miss me each and every day  --

I know that you will remember me

Even though I may seem far away  --

Truth is you see that I am still with you

Each and every day  --

I am with you with the break of sun

And across the moon beam’s spray  --

I am with you because you are

A part of me and one day

When I see you once again

On this side of heaven’s line

We will share what I now know

As God’s forever time  --

I will smile with wonder

At the time we joyfully did share

And I will recall with love within

As I remember how much you both care…

If you miss me more than you

Seem to be able to bare

Just listen with your heart

And I will let you know with a whisper

How much I love you

And for you both how deeply I still care…©

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
