Poem Commentary

God bless our country and the soldiers fighting for our freedom

Memorial Day

A soldier stands holding a rifle in one hand; family picture in the other, tears streaming remembering lost sisters and brothers.

The crowd begins to gather for the tribute of the fallen, the newest member of the heroes have left his family bawling.

Men and women leave for duty not sure of their return, they do it for our freedom; so the flag will fly and not burn.

Remember the vets who have lived through the fight, remember the heroes still guarding our country at night.

Yes we must remember and support our vets, so many are young and frightened sent to live on Foreign soil, so far from home and so alone. Whether we agree with war or not we love our young people and I am sure no one wishes to see them destroyed in a land far away. These young men and women agreed to defend our shores. I bet not to many of them knew that could mean a death trip
