Mirrored Emotions

Poem Commentary

I wrote this a few minutes before I finished writing my poem Winter Song, and I didn't originally think of this as a poem, just as some thoughts and feelings I had written down. But, recently I've been thinking that it was meant to be one, so here it is.

Mirrored Emotions

The rain falls outside my window,
like millions of teardrops falling from the heavens.
I think when it rains the sky is crying,
sometimes it cries for itself,
and sometimes it cries for us, so we don't have to.
On a sunny and blue sky day the heavens are happy,
and on a rainy and grey day they are sad.
It's as if the heavens mirror our emotions.
Or, maybe it is us who mirror theirs.
