    Mother Nature's Labor of Love

    There was gray
    Churning sea today,
    Rough and angry looking.
    A salty wind blowing,
    Shiftless sands of time,
    Slowly, slipping away.

    After passing scattered cottages
    And sandy marshes,
    I saw from a cliff
    The open waters...
    Stern and cross...
    A rock-bound coast,
    Gray, jutting rocks...
    Waves pounding
    The ocean shores.

    At the close of day,
    Things bring despair,
    Things bring deep care...
Rocks on the trails of life.

You have to climb the mountain
    To appreciate the view.
    Travel along where,
    White fleecy clouds form.
