    Movement/Standing Still

My feet move back and forth.
    Sensing movement
    my perifery blurs,
    As the reflection in windows
    roars past me.
    Light speed.
    I'm getting somewhere,
    Going nowhere.
    My lips move,
    No words that move.
    My fists clench,
    No violence.
    Lighting fast,
    did you see that?
    So much to do,
    So little time.
    Ah, movement.
    Wind in my hair,
    Standing still.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
