    NEGLECT THE WORLD

    Inspiration when it comes
    Comes slowly
    Or not at all
    The light goes out
    The timing seems off
    The process becomes undone

    The drive to the hospital
    Was like a vacation
Somehow I likened it to a peaceful respite
    From coping from whatever came
    that needed coping with

    The job applications ignored
It's not like they have to tell you why
    They don't want you

    These seconds count
    Stolen as they are
    Watch over me
    As I stand
    As I attempt
    to please the highest order
    And neglect the world

I really enjoyed this piece. You can't force inspiration. It is when we're doing the least that we sink into our inner most thoughts.
