    Pick up lines

Every cloud has a silver lining, yes, this is the thought I hold on to,
Trodding carefully around the puddles created by other people’s rainclouds,
I look up tentatively at my own, and think the last thing I want right now is a silver lightning bolt to come streaking through and put an end to what has already been a miserable day, but this they tell me, is the best I have to look forward to..
Off course, every dog does have his day, I say this to my own pet rusty every time I go outside to walk him and exchange pleasantries with fellow owners, I cherish it as well when I’m feeling down,
Because in my state of depression what I need is to be lowered to the base position of an animal, and then offered some vague promise, yes rusty, we all have our days, you luckiest of all for having less to look forward to,
But do not despair, Rome was after all not built in a day, Forgive me my haste, It wasn’t,
It took about nine hundred years, give or take a few, so only three hundred twenty-eight thousand five hundred days left, and no, I’m not counting leap years, thank you t for asking though, we should do this more often, but before you go, Please write the leprechaun to tell him I’m not falling for his pot of gold fiasco again, also I can’t seem to see the grass behind all these fences frost has been building, and tell that kid round the corner I want my lemonade stand back.

Too many cliches. It makes your poem boring. Try to be more original with your work. I would like to see something else from you.

    good work

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
