    Ragdoll (lyrics)

    Where have I been?
    I'm stuck in la-la land,
    Held up by sinking sand-
    Where am I going?

    What have I done?
    i have become so numb,
I need to feel the sun-
    Feel you closer.

And I can't tell you how hard I've tried
To see past all the clouds that hide you now-
I've got to break through somehow. . .

    Where have you been?
It's been a while since you've been in-
Haven't you considered that I need mending,
I'm like a torn-up ragdoll sitting on your shelf.

This is hell. or. close. to. it.
    Don't you care?

Don't you see, Father how far I've come?
Don't turn your back upon your ragdoll now-
I'm trying to see through the clouds.

But your face is never closer-
I need just one more dose of your love now
    And I'll be fine but. . .

It's getting dark- you have gone down,
The blackness swallows all my hopes- dreams now
Of breaking through the clouds. . .

No- I don't want to say goodbye-
But this ragdoll is getting so tired now,
My feet are planted to the ground. . .

Stuck on your shelf for now. . .
Oh, how I wish that I'd be found. . .

    Reach for me- please,
Break through the clouds. . .

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
