    Secret

    Night after night I pray.
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to the lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul take.
Fast asleep but soon my daddy awakes.
He tells me he loves me and this is our Secret and that’s the way I must keep it.
Mommy sleeping, she has work early in the morning, so I have to be quiet.
Sometimes this Secret hurts but my daddy really likes it.
As we play house daddy touches me where mommy tells me no one is allowed.
He is my daddy so I guess it makes it okay.
I tell my mommy it hurts down there and she tells me don’t touch it, it’ll be okay.
One day me and daddy while playing house mommy crept in like a mouse.
She put her finger to her mouth so I guess she was part of the game too
Didn’t want me to be too loud.
I closed my eyes like I always did and pretended I was in a different place
When I opened them mommy was standing behind daddy with a gun in her hand.
    The game was ruined!
” Mommy what are you doing!? Daddy telling Mommy “Put the gun down”
Mommy shot daddy and he fell to the ground
My mommy cried and came and laid by my side, “Why didn’t you tell me.”
“Because you’re not supposed to tell Secrets” I replied.
