    Silent Words

Looking around me I can see
    Sinful hearts with contorted faces
Who laugh at my supposed ignorance in glee

My disposition is that of a discourser
But still I am able to decipher
The shallow thoughts and empty chords
The callous whispers and silent words
    Of people
    Who hide what the feel
And gossip what the need tell
    But all is well
    As long as they find
That the ones in question are blind
    To their surreptitious manner

But if ever you were to know
What lies in their souls below
    I assure
    That never more
Would you ever feel to meet them
    Let alone trusting

    For their topic and subject
    Is irrelevant and abject
    Upon which they base
    Their stories and tales
    Not knowing ever
    What the truth be
    And distortion
    To their conjured fiction
    Is added in free

    I sit and watch
In a cool and cozy spot
Those graceful creatures of the lot
Whose soft smiles and sparkling gaze
Puts me in a state of daze
    Their chirps and giggles
    Are so beautiful

    And as I walk by
    They wave
    They smile
    Not knowing
That I have been gauging their thoughts all this while
