Poem Commentary

just a poem i decided to write. it started as a nature poem, so i guess it shows the bond between nature and love.

Sitting By a Tree

As the summer breeze flows across the medow,

The wild flowers sway,

In all shades of yellow.

A herd of lazy cows grazes,

While the earth is warmed,

And the sun blazes.

Sitting by a tree,

watching all of this,

I wish he was here with me.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
