  • I just lost the love of my life, my heart & my soul, my Dad. The strength that I used to hold on to, is gone. But I know, he's living in my heart forever. From the day he went, I realized that all this while, throughout the struggles, pain, sorrow even until the day he passed, I was on my own, standing and breathing. I learn that, even as a woman, we don't really need to count on someone else to survive. Love is pain, and lose it, sucks. But I'm strong. I don't need to lean on anybody to get up

Sophie

Sophie

By Annie

Shall I name the ring as a diamond?

Must I steal the crown just to have the title?

Should I break the glass just to make it sharps?

Will the windows explain the weather outside?

The more I treasure the questions

The more I seek the properties

The more I answer the sophistication

The more I drown into deep blue sea

Never had I known what Sophie clings to

 She seems to be rich

Yet rich with awesomeness

She shows her greatness

Yet I’m treasuring the sadness

She shows her manner

Yet had she hide her best presents?

Sophie shows her solace in emptiness

I see Sophie, I sing for Sophie

Are you the best Sophie

Or only name that describes you Sophie?

I need to treasure more

With more of the pride you show

People talk, you silent

Shhh Sophie,

You talk, I admire!

THE MORE COMPLICATED WAVE YOU PRODUCED

THE MORE I TEMPTED TO TREASURE IN YOU

AS YOU ARE THE BEST WOMAN, NOT ONLY AS A WOMAN

AS A TEACHER, SISTER FRIEND AND MOTHER!

your work isn't as lyrical as it is emotional I love poetry like that it grabs you by the heart and paints a picture in your soul well done

Very interesting piece some of your words in the poem seem to break up one was already mentioned, and I take you go from the beggining of the story to talking about sophie then it ends so quickly I love this piece of work. these lines especially, must I steal the crown just to have the title, will the window explain the weather outside. Keep writing I like your work

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
