    Tapestry

Test the weft and weave of this tapestry
you have woven of brittle desire
       and fragile smiles of longing.
A panorama of what should have been-
       colored glassine dreamings pretending
       tomorrow has form to fold-
and the air is filled with the trill
of hope flitting about on fragile wing
       and shattered broken screamings
       of deception on the hunt
                       like silvered hawks.
Tugging too hard on the tapestry-
weeping as it rends and unravels
in wave after wave of fear...
    Fear of running-Fear of staying-
Fear of being so alone in life.
Sweet the scent of liberation from fear-
A honeyed fragrance of ambered sunlight
       from Tapestry blossoms...
    Laughter the sound that cuts
       the tapestry threads.
