The Cost of Freedom

The Cost of Freedom

The Cost of Freedom

They kill… everyone and then each other

One left… to turn around and kill another

Onward we ride over sea, through the skies

To a land that is hostile and cold

A people are freed and a dictator shook

In with the new, out with the old

Ruthless a villain who never concedes

That freedom brings prosperity

Damned be the souls that would bring such atrocity

Burn for an eternity

The cost of freedom

One chance… to end their evil and oppression

We stand… against the tyrants of aggression

Forward we march cross the land of our enemy

Barron, desolate, raw

A people in need of another’s compassion

With honor we beckon their call

Careless a leader that buries their need

And foments a feeling of grief

Damned be the souls of this utter hypocrisy

Lost in their insanity

The cost of freedom

We fight and then die for another one’s liberty

A far greater plan that we lay

When forces evil of collide with humanity

Like stones, we just cast them away

Don’t test our resolve for you’ll lose all expectancy

Hopeless with no victory

Another reminder of just who’s been beaten

Look into your hearts and you’ll see…

The cost of freedom

Look into the stars and you’ll see…

The cost of freedom

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
