The Enlightenment

A frail, wizened man stands apart from the crowd
His wandering gaze ever longing to see
Revealed by his eyes, Heaven comes into view
Inevitably tainted by Hell that must be…

His insight screams contrast of angels and daemons
A black, vengeful fortress; the luminous sun
Made plain to this seeker of omniscient wisdom
His conscience bleats questions which truth can appease
Thus hearing his wishes, his time-constrained pleas
The gods grant him knowledge on which his soul feeds:

"With Light's tangibility comes sibilant Shadow
With every Day's rising, Night digs the sun's grave
Divine scales of life will weigh out occurrence
Balancing darkness against glinting rays

Son, is it clear now?
Does sight serve you well?
Does your mind comprehend?
Do you see what's entailed?

Though the Void may embrace you, with arms blacker than Night
Eroding your joy, destroying your sight
Light shines that much brighter in darkness abound
Now, bask in its ambience,

Enthralling

Profound."

good work,, keep up the good work...

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
