    the light in the darkness

Night after night as moments go by,

I stare into darkness wondering why,

Why do people fly planes into buildings?

Why are there such things as justified killings?

Though killing can be necessary, it can not justify war,

Some questions, some thoughts you just can't ignore,

Ideas that twist your insides and rock you to the core,

Thoughts spawned in darkness intended to spread the light,

Most people wear rose colored glasses, because the truth is too bright,

But no not I, not ever will I stray from truths bright light.

Recognize the truth and you will never loose sight,

Inside we all know what is right,

So why do we have to be told killing is wrong?

Humanity keeps playing the same sad song

One day no one will be around to listen.

Listen to sound of the future as it becomes present

The echoes of our lives will ripple throughout time and space

Till the last shimmering vibration, that reflected our race

Listen for I have written the ballad of our future

I have titled it with a question mark, because nothing is for sure

Its lyric dances with hollow rhyme, apocalyptic variables are its rhythm

For our history is of the destruction,

To survive our future must be of construction.

In the thickest darkness I search for light,

In this journey my dreams take flight...

you write with so much knowledge and depth. absolutely loved this

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
